Dear Sisters, Brothers, Comrades;
If I could thank you all, one to one, I would do so; please accept this form of thanks!
I though it important to write each name of each political prisoner; nay, each person, each living human being to signify you individual importance, and to mark my depth of appreciation for the moving works of militant art that spring from the vibrant souls of our engaged selves.
Portrait artists, seamstresses, ethchers, poets -- artists all; I thank you in this living work of unity in action.
>From our various worlds, movements, cultures, genders and perspectives our united spirit and presence invokes an ancient and mighty power - The force of Righteous will.
Truly, culture is, as Black Panther Party former Culture Minister Emory Douglas once said a "weapon" to be wielded and utilized for your/our liberation.
Yours has been the brush, the sewing needle, the charcoal stick, the word; mine has been the pen, and it shall be utilized, as it has been in the past, on behalf of the oppressed; against the system, as long as I have breath.
Y'all have my gratitude and my respect!
