Sunscape

The Sunscape project was born in the Aprile '93 by an idea of Marco Minds Eye Da Rold.

The band defines itself progressive - not as a musical genre, but as a philosophy:
any production starts from a different research, a work in progress.

The first two demotapes, "Sunscape" and "The sun touches the ground", recorded during 94/95,
are much influenced by the old english psichedelic scene (Hawkwind, Gong).

The two following demotapes was recorded with a different line-up, Mind's Eye and
Carlo Smazzabile are joined by Matteo at bass guitar (Transonia, Giobia, Potenziato Titanio)
and Tony at drums.

The music change, it becomes more relaxed but with more attention to the timbres,
so in " Cosmic Jokes ", recorded during December 1996 (only in one day!), they were
inspired by the english prog (King Crimson) and neo-psychedelic scene
(Ozric Tentacles ,Here & Now).

The next demo-tape, " Shivaita ", is the most ambient stuff they made. Lyrics are in Italian,
with minimal footprints, music can be compared to the works of Labradford, Brian Eno and
Howie B, even if sometimes it recalls the kraut-rock german cosmic scene (Popol Vuh,
Tangerine Dream, Amon Duul II ).

There are some cosmic ballads, with the Byrdsian Mind's Eye's guitar, refreshed by the
psichedelic keyboardism of Carlo Smazzabile.

The italian band played with Poisoned Electrick Head (psychedelic sixtet of Liverpool UK),
at Bloom di Mezzago in the October 1994, with Here & Now (historical london psichedelic
band) at Canguro Music Box in S. Colombano al Lambro in the April 1995 and with
Ozric Tentacles at C.S. Leoncavallo in July 1997.

Sunscape are a strong live band: since 1994 they are active with many gigs in italian venues
and squatted places.

We are looking for contacts to play abroad, supporting psychedelic bands or whatever.

Sunscape has a presence on the psichedelic italian compilation
Floralia Vol.1 (on/off records - NF001) with the track Libera Esplosione
and made an appereance on the italian television network Tele +,
on the ”Com’e’” show, playing the track Agibilita’ Enpals , on September 1997.
